♦ Artist Bill Sienkiewicz has long been a favourite artist and illustrator of ours and here he is on how Elektra: Assassin became a critical hit over a number of years…

Boleslav William Felix Robert Sienkiewicz (/sɪnˈkɛvɪ/ sin-KEV-itch; born 3 May 1958), better known as Bill Sienkiewicz, is an Eisner Award-winning American artist known for his work in comic books—particularly for Marvel Comics’ The New Mutants and Elektra: Assassin. Sienkiewicz’s work in the 1980s was considered revolutionary in mainstream US comics, due to his highly stylized art that verged on abstraction and made use of oil painting, photorealism, collage, mimeograph, and other forms generally uncommon in comic books. He has also created illustrations for films like John Wick Chapter 2LoganBlack Panther and TV shows like Legion. He has worked regularly with artistic collaborator and friend Denys Cowan too.
