Check Out A New Trailer For Star Trek Discovery Season Two

New Voyages Begin Soon

Star Trek Discovery is back from 18 January on CBS All Access in the US and Netflix in the UK and Rotten Tomatoes has just run a new trailer for it so here it is…

Created by Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman for CBS All Access, the story of Star Trek: Discovery begins roughly a decade before Captain Kirk’s five-year mission — as portrayed in the original “Star Trek” from the 1960s — and a century after the events of “Star Trek: Enterprise.” The series follows the crew of the USS Discovery as they encounter new worlds and civilizations, delving into familiar themes and expanding upon an incident that has been talked about within the franchise’s universe, but never fully explored.

We don’t know much about the plot for season two but showrunner Aaron Harberts did offer a few vague suggestions a few months back on Radio Times:

Without going into detail, Harberts has promised that season two will feel a bit more like the Star Trek TV series we know and love. “We have time [in season two]—we have time to do things like more away missions, newer planets,” he says. “These are stories that might fall a little bit more into a framework of allegory that people love to get from Trek. But we will always continue to have that overarching serialised thread.”

Clearly the author of the article isn’t a ST fan.

“Created by Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman for CBS All Access, the story of Star Trek: Discovery begins roughly a decade before Captain Kirk’s five-year mission — as portrayed in the original ‘Star Trek’ from the 1960s — and a century before the events of ‘Star Trek: Enterprise.’”

That should be a century after Enterprise and a century before The Next Generation. I have seen this mistake several times.

    • Sorry that is my mistake. I shall fix this. And I do like some Trek. I rather enjoyed Discovery and thought it really picked up around three episodes in.
