Portsmouth International Festival Of Comics Coming In May 2018

Celebrating Comics Down By The South Coast

♦ 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of Tripwire and we are very excited with our plans for the next year. For the past 25 years, we have been visiting and attending a selection of shows in the UK and US. From 2018, we shall be working with the people who run the Portsmouth Guildhall to put together a memorable and enjoyable show that will hopefully reflect the best in comics and also showcase TV and Film from a unique perspective.

The Portsmouth International Comic Con, taking place on 5 and 6 May 2018, is a two day show which will feature many of the best comic artists, illustrators and creators currently working in the industry and its related fields. We have already announced an initial guest list that includes Tommy Lee Edwards, John Paul Leon, Geof Darrow, Gene Ha, Rafael Albuquerque, Dave Dorman, Russell Walks, Laurence Campbell, Mark Buckingham, Sean Phillips, Simon Fraser and Cully Hamner. At the end of next week, we shall be announcing a new wave of guests that includes two huge American comic legends, a newer female creator who is making waves and another US comic creator with a unique style and a loyal following. Publishers like IDW and Image will be represented at the show as well.

We are very excited about the Portsmouth International Comic Con and we hope to make it a regular fixture of the UK and international comic convention scene. Over the coming weeks and months, we shall be showcasing our guests and the publishers who are supporting us at the show here on the site. If you want to book tickets for the show or if you are an exhibitor or an artist or a writer and would like to attend the show, please visit the regularly updated website here
