Comics Take Over Birmingham
♦ This Saturday, the ICE comic show is on in Birmimgham and here’s a rundown of the panels on over the show…
11.00 – 12.00 – The Geek Syndicate Live Chat Show – Part 1 – This year we kick off proceedings with a 1 hour extravaganza hosted by Barry and Dave from the famous Geek Syndicate Podcast. Joining the lads will be star guests Freddie E Williams, Will Sliney and more in exclusive interviews.
12.00 – 13.00 – Digital Colouring Demo with Dylan Teague –One of the best British colour artists in the business will be sharing tips and techniques with aspiring colourists in this exclusive master class. A fascinating insight into what goes into creating a fully coloured comic book page.
13.00 – 14.00 – A Cup of Tea with JTC – Join the Englishman in San Diego broadcasting live as he interviews the exceptionally popular cover artist John Tyler Christopher, famous for his top selling Star Wars and Marvel action figure variants. ICE 2017 is the super star artist’s only UK appearance for at least the next 10 years so this will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to get close and personal for many of his fans.
14.00 – 15.00 – When Olly Met Dan – Guaranteed to be standing room only and a highlight of the day, acclaimed Spider-man and Silver Surfer writer Dan Slott talks to host Olly McNamee about his incredible award winning career and about his ongoing love affair with a certain wall crawling Marvel super hero.
15.00 – 16.00 – The Geek Syndicate Live Chat Show – Part 2 – Things get a little more serious as the boys are joined by a cross section of the comic industry as they discuss the future of the medium in the UK and ask those all important questions about the state of the comics nation. Trying to put the comic world to rights will be Steve Tanner, Jane Straw, Charlie Adlard and Jessica Martin
16.00 – 17.15 – The ICE 2017 Charity Auction – Barry and Dave are your auctioneers as the fun begins again for the final event of the day. A chance to support our local charity Beanstalk, who offer support to reluctant and socially challenged young readers in schools, whilst also treating yourself to some amazing, and often unique, collectable items donated by our guests and exhibitors.
