Spotlight On Portsmouth Comic Con 2019: Andy Fanton

Seeing The Funny Side

♦ The second Portsmouth Comic Con takes place in 10 days’ time and Tripwire is proud to be a part of it once again. Here is the latest spotlight feature looking at one of its guests, artist Andy Fanton

Based right here in Portsmouth, Andy began his career in comics on The Dandy, where he created strips such as George vs Dragon and Boo! He then moved across to Beano, where as well as drawing new strips he also became the regular writer for iconic characters such as The Bash Street Kids and Minnie the Minx, which he continues to do now.

Outside of this, he has also contributed to Viz, Private Eye and Newsjack, as well as working on his own project, The Astonishing Adventures of Lord Likely.

This is Fanton’s first visit to Portsmouth Comic Con as a guest. He is a British humour artist with a regular following and his presence is a great addition to the show.

Tickets are available now for Portsmouth Comic Con but they are selling fast. Please visit the website for details on the show and to pick up tickets
