Matt Murdock’s best friend and law partner Foggy Nelson has cancer. Normal men are being put through the same dangerous conditions that gave birth to the heroic Daredevil. And, “The Man Without Fear” has met his Japanese opposite number and a female disciple of his greatest enemy – on their deadly terms.

That’s just the beginning of this epic, fast-paced tale.

No big reveals here, though. That’s what you’ll enjoy when you purchase the Chris Samnee’s Daredevil Artist’s Edition from IDW.  This slipcased set includes two books: the hardcover artist’s edition containing all the covers and full layouts from Daredevil #23 – #27 without lettering, as well as a softcover companion featuring acclaimed comic book scribe Mark Waid’s full script with Samnee’s thumbnails included. Shot in color from Samnee’s original black-and-white art and working script, this artist’s edition package handsomely showcases the incredibly talented illustrator’s delicate delineations as close as possible to the physical page.

Edited by Scott Dunbier – and designed by the great Randall Dahlk – this 12” x 17” artist’s edition brings Samnee to the forefront of respected comic book artists. Featuring an introduction by Samnee’s collaborator, Waid, this slipcased set shows off the artist’s influences – Alex Toth, Milton Caniff, David Mazzucchelli, and John Romita Jr – on every page. Samnee even won the coveted Eisner Award for his work on this exemplary run for the House of Ideas.

That’s not all. Waid fans will also enjoy the chance to read the writer’s full script in its original form with the accompanying softcover edition, which is complemented by Samnee’s detailed thumbnails and an introduction by the artist. This allows the reader the ability to envision the story as it was being produced by these two great comic book partners in crime.

The artist’s edition, while being a beautifully designed exploration of Waid and Samnee’s creative process, also offers readers a mystery that True Believers everywhere will enthrall themselves with – and is a wonderful addition to the collections of kids of all ages! Dig for yourself.
