One Of The Originals
♦ At last weekend’s London Super Comic Con in the Business Design Centre, Tripwire’s editor-in-chief JOEL MEADOWS caught up with legendary British writer-artist Dave Gibbons, who spoke about looking back at a long career in comics, being the first comics laureate and much more. Dave Gibbons is a comic writer and artist with a career that stretches back to the first half of the 1970s. He has worked with some of the best writers in the industry including the likes of Alan Moore, Frank Miller and Len Wein on characters like Green Lantern, Superman and Doctor Who. His work as artist on DC’s Watchmen back in 1986 cemented his reputation as one of the most distinctive artists in modern comics. He has also become well-regarded as a writer-artist too with semi-autobiographical graphic novel The Originals, which was originally published by Vertigo/ DC back in 2004 and is being republished by Berger Books, an imprint of Dark Horse Comics next year.
